Bundesliga X Top Baller launch multi-event 1v1 series in the US: New York City

Bundesliga and Top Baller are back in the US offering young ballers the prize of a lifetime with two Bundesliga giants: FC Bayern and RB Leipzig. Launching 1st November 2025 in New York City, for boys U16  (16, 15 and 14 y/olds), we’ll be running the first of four qualifiers across the US, leading to a Final in April, 2026.

Have you ever dreamed of playing in one of the best leagues in Europe?

  • 2 players will be selected to play in the Final for a chance to win a trial at RB Leipzig academy, and
  • 1 player will be selected to play in the FC Bayern Youth Cup qualifiers in Portland, Oregon.

The RB Leipzig opportunity: win a trial with the RB Leipzig academy in Germany

Top Baller x Bundesliga will run four city qualifiers across the US starting in NYC, (3 Commercial St, Brooklyn, NY 11222), 1st November, and fly out the top two players from each city to the Final in 2026. 

At the Final, an RB Leipzig scout will select the top two players for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: travel to Germany and train for one week at the RB Leipzig Academy. 

The trial will include opportunities such as:

  • Individual technical training with an RB Leipzig coach
  • Individual athletic training with an RB Leipzig coach
  • Practice sessions using  state-of-the-art training tools for passing, set pieces, coordination, speed, and more
  • Exclusive insider experience of an academy player’s daily routine
  • RB Leipzig Stadium tour

The FC Bayern Pathway: Earn a spot in the Youth Cup qualifier  

At each of the four city qualifiers, one baller from every event will win the opportunity to play in the FC Bayern Youth Cup qualifier, taking place next summer 2026. The FC Bayern Youth Cup qualifier provides an opportunity to be selected to represent Team USA in the FC Bayern Youth Cup in Munich, or be invited to the Global Academy program. Under-16 1-v-1 Soccer Tournament
Official Competition Rules

1. Organizer
The Bundesliga x Top Baller Under-16 Soccer 1v1 Tournament (“Tournament”) is organized by
Top Baller in partnership with Bundesliga (collectively, “Organizers”).

2. Tournament Overview:
Age Group: Boys aged 14, 15 or 16 at the date of their Qualifier Event .
Events: 4 Qualifier Events + 1 Final Event across different U.S. cities.
Format: 1 v 1 skills-based tournament.

Prize Structure:

  • First Prize: RB Leipzig Academy Trial – 2 players will be selected at the Final for
    a 1week training session (including, health check, lactate test, speed test,
    session with various traning tools such as Soccerbot 360, Trackman and
    Skillcourt, individual training with technical coach and athletic coach) at RB
    Leipzig Academy in Germany. Flights and accommodation covered for winners
    and one parent/guardian each.
  • Second Prize: FC Bayern Youth Cup Qualifiers – 4 players (1 from each
    Qualifier Event) will be selected to participate in the FC Bayern Youth Cup
    Qualifiers in Portland, Oregon, Summer 2026. (The FC Bayern Youth Cup
    Qualifier provides an opportunity to be selected to represent Team USA in the
    FC Bayern Youth Cup in Munich, or be invited to the Global Academy program.
    These opportunities are specifically designed to create pathways into
    professional football for young talented players worldwide. Note: selection for
    Team USA is not administered by Top Baller or Bundesliga).

3. Event Schedule:

  • Qualifier Event 1 – Sat, Nov 1st, 2025 – Newtown Barge 3 Commercial St, Brooklyn, NY 11222

  • Qualifier Event 2 – Late 2025 / Early 2026 (TBC) – City TBC

  • Qualifier Event 3 – Fri, Feb 27, 2026 (TBC) – City TBC

  • Qualifier Event 4 – March 2026 (TBC) – City TBC

  • Final Event – April 2026 (TBC) – City TBC

  • RB Leipzig Academy Training – Late May/Early June 2026 (TBC) – Leipzig, Germany (TBC)

  • FC Bayern Youth Cup Qualifiers – Summer 2026 (TBC) – Portland, Oregon (TBC)

4. Eligibility:

  • Players must be boys aged 14, 15 or 16 at the date of their Qualifier Event.
  • Proof of age required (birth certificate, passport, or government-issued ID).
  • Completed Parent/Guardian Consent Forms and Liability Waiver required.
  • Players may participate in only one Qualifier Event.
  • Players with existing arrangements with professional teams may be restricted based on team or league rules

5. Registrations:
Registration opens on 20th October via Tournament website.
Players accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Online registration closes on the day before each Qualifier Event. Walk ups are permitted subject to availability and signature of the necessary consent and waiver forms by a parent or legal guardian.

6. Tournament Format
Qualifier Events: Group and knockout rounds (as determined by Organizers).
Final Event: Players advancing from Qualifiers compete for the RB Leipzig.

7. Selection Criteria
RB Leipzig Academy Trial: Selection by RB Leipzig, Red Bull scout, or another representative of the club at the Final Event.
FC Bayern Youth Cup Qualifiers: FC Bayern Head of Youth Football (or a legend, or another representative of the club) will attend each event and select the winner of the prize.
Organizers Decisions are final.

8. Code of Conduct
All participants, parents/guardians, and staff must adhere to youth sports ethical standards.
Misconduct may result in disqualification.

9. Health and Safety
Medical staff will be present at all events.
Compliance with U.S. youth sports safety laws (concussion protocols, emergency plans, public health guidance) is mandatory.
Parents must provide emergency contact and medical information.

10. Travel and Accommodation
RB Leipzig winners: Flights and Accommodation for player that is selected to qualify for the Final Event will be covered. One parent/guardian will also have their Flights and Accommodation covered.
FC Bayern winners: Flights, Accommodation and food for player only.
Organizers not responsible for any additional expenses.

11. Media, Promotion, and Content
Organizers may film, broadcast, and promote events, including via social media.
ESPN or other media partners may act as co-hosts and may also broadcast content.
Players and parents/guardians grant permission for use of name, image, and video in relation to the foregoing via Consent Form.

12. Liability and Insurance
Participation at player’s own risk.
Parent/guardian must sign Liability Waiver.
Organizers maintain event liability insurance but are not responsible for personal injury, loss, or damage beyond coverage.

13. Disciplinary and Appeals Process
On-field decisions are final.
Off-field disputes handled by Organizers.
Organizers’ decisions are final.

14. Compliance
Participants must follow all FIFA and U.S. Soccer rules applicable to youth tournaments.
