What does women’s football need? Everything suggests more exposure; more events, more opportunities, and for these to be given more media coverage.
The success of the Women’s World Cup in 2023 created a buzz of activity and opportunity for players across the globe, raking in record television views and stadium crowds. And just as with any other national or international sports competition, engagement with women’s football peaks dramatically with active media attention on the sport as it finds new audiences to inspire and delight.
Without a doubt women’s football has reached new heights globally and on the back of this well-deserved momentum we’re launching our biggest collaboration to date with adidas, and kicking off by opening registrations in to 16+ talent in the men and women’s categories.
We want to increase exposure and grow participation in football across all age groups and genders. Since our launch in April 2023 we’ve run 1v1 events in several categories and we plan to continue to expand into more player categories into 2024 and beyond.
We want to do this around the world, but we’re starting at home in the UK. Across February and March we’re coming to Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and London with our Top Baller x adidas Predator series. Registrations have opened for men’s 16+ and women’s 16+ categories and we need your help to ensure each city is represented by the best ballers in each category.
Events in each city for the men and women’s 16+ category will run on the same day, with the episodes dropping on our YouTube account the following week. EVERY player in all events will take home a full head-to-toe adidas Tiro Training kit, and the runner-up of each event will also receive a £250 adiClub gift card. The winners will take home the title of Champion, the full Tiro Training kit, a £500 adiClub gift card AND brand new adidas Predator Elite boots.
