We’re looking for a true baller with raw talent and the ability to handle themselves alone on the pitch. In our 1v1, each player gets the opportunity to play in attack and defence, with points awarded to players for preventing a goal or scoring.

Watch our promo video to learn more about how to play.

Game set-up

The competition involves players competing in six rounds in front of an audience for the chance to win the cash prize and Top Baller title. The rounds are broken down as follows:

  • Qualifying Rounds
  • Money Rounds (first knockout round winners play-off in a Round of 16 to enter Quarter Final)
  • Quarter Final
  • Semi Final
  • Final

How To Play

  • Attacker plays a 1-2 with the defender
  • Beat the defender and score to get 1 point
  • Play resets and players switch positions
  • Defender stops attacker from scoring to get 1 point
  • Attackers get 10 seconds to score at each round
  • First to get 3 points advances to the next round

How to get a point

As an Attacker

  • Score a goal
  • Beat the defender with a crazy skill* and score a goal to automatically advance to the next round

* At the discretion of the referee. This is what we’d call a violation.

As a Defender

  • Stop the attacker from scoring to win 1 point
  • Take the ball out of play via a block or shield to win 1 point
  • Gain possession of the ball and be in complete control of it to win 1 point

Fouls

Fouls will be decided by the referee and play must not stop until the referee signals the foul.

  • If the defender does a dangerous tackle or deliberately fouls to prevent the attacker from scoring it’s an automatic disqualification
  • Deliberate handball results in an automatic disqualification
  • Accidental handballs:
    • First accidental handball results in a rerun;
    • Second accidental handball results in a point awarded to the opponent;
    • A repeated accidental handball results in player disqualification.
  • Accidental fouls (slipping or mistiming a tackle):
    • First accidental foul results in 1 point deduction;
    • Second accidental foul results in 1 point being awarded to the opponent;
    • A repeated accidental foul results in player disqualification.
